La La Land (2016)
Comedy, romance and a touch of a musical! The story of an aspiring actress who meets and falls in love with a jazz musician in Los Angelas. As they work towards their dreams, their fragile love affair begins to rip them apart as they work so hard to maintain being a part of each other’s lives. Recently bagging 7 awards at the 74th Golden Globes, this movie is well… you HAVE to watch it to know what we mean!
Me Before You (2016)
If you want to ball your eyes out, THIS IS THE MOVIE TO WATCH! The movie revolves around a girl from a small town who forms an unlikely bond with the recently paralyzed man she was taking care of. Coming from two separate worlds, their romance is out of the ordinary and tear-jerking.
This is for all of you who want to have a good laugh. A little girl who grew up with the idea that monogamy isn’t realistic, she finds herself falling for a charming and successful sports doctor and that’s when everything changes. This is the perfect movie if you’re looking for one to lighten your mood.
Love, Rosie (2014)
A story about two individuals who have been best friends since they were 5. When it comes to love and making the right decisions in life, these two are the worst enemies. Missed opportunities in life send them in opposite directions with time, space and distance between them but fate eventually brings them back together in a unique and special way. Also, a tear-jerking movie, if you ask us!
The Fault In Our Stars (2014)
You must have heard a lot of people raving about this movie and that’s why it’s on the list! Two cancer patients find each other in a cancer support group and begin to grow closer, eventually falling for one another. With time ticking on the clock, they begin a life-affirming journey to visit a reclusive author in Amsterdam. You’re guaranteed to feel all sorts of sappy emotions after this.
Begin Again (2013)
Not exactly a comedy but there’s definitely romance, drama and a touch of music! The story revolves around a young singer-songwriter and a disgraced music-business executive who stumbles upon her on an East Village in New York and was immediately captivated by her raw talent.
About Time (2013)
A British rom-com which you MUST watch if you’re looking for that feel-good movie. In the movie, a young 21-year-old boy discovers he has the ability to travel in time. He isn’t able to change history but he can change what happens and has happened in his life. He decided to get a girlfriend and that didn’t turn out as easy as he thought. We’re not sure about tears for this about but you’ll get a good laugh if you love British humour!
Safe Haven (2013)
Based on a Nicholas Sparks book, you know you’re in for a good romance storyline. When a mysterious woman lands herself in a small town in North Carolina, her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her. This deeply moving romantic thriller is perfect if you don’t want to end up in tears!
The Vow (2012)
Be warned, this movie will break your heart. A newlywed couple recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband tries to win her heart again. One of the BEST romance movies out there, you’ll definitely love this one!
Silver Lining Playbook (2012)
This one is pretty interesting and not your typical rom-com movie. After losing everything including his house, job and wife, he finds himself moving back in with parents and determined than ever to rebuild his life and reunite with his wife despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. He unexpectedly meets a mysterious girl who offers to help him reconnect with his wife if he does something very important for her in return. We can 101% swear that you’ll love this movie and watch it with no regrets!
No Strings Attached (2011)
We can bet that you will LOVE this one although film critics are 50/50 on this! Trying to keep their relationship strictly physical, the pair soon finds out that there may be more to their friendship / relationship which might have more substance than they are prepared for. If you’re not in it for the storyline, enjoy some eye-candy of Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher!
Just Go With It (2011)
If you’re up for some good laugh, this would be it! A weekend trip to Hawaii that changes their lives. A plastic surgeon convinces his loyal assistant to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife in order to cover up a careless lie he told to his much-younger girlfriend. No tears and all laughs for this one!
Crazy Stupid Love (2011)
This was a good one and film critics can agree with us! As a middle-aged husband learns that his wife had cheated on him and wants a divorce, his perfect life quickly crumbles before his eyes. For someone who hasn’t dated in decades, he seeks to rediscover his manhood with the help of his young new found friend. We’re certain some people can relate to this and we can’t get enough of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling!
Dear John (2010)
Be prepared to cry a whole lot. An old but gold movie which revolves around the love story of a young soldier and a college student whom he fell in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven years, their relationship is separated by his increasingly dangerous deployments and their whirlwind romance takes a turn for the worst.
Love And Other Drugs (2010)
We think you might like this one although it received mixed reviews from critics. A young woman with an alluring free spirit won’t let anyone or anything tie her hands down until she met a guy who changed her world. Their relationship takes the both of them by surprise as they find themselves being under the influence of a strong drug: love.
